Commercial building for high-end category offices at the entrance to Quebec City. The ONIVO building consists of a cantilevered beam steel structure connected to the ground by two exit stairwells located at the ends of three successive steel trusses.
This dynamic architecture integrates linearly with the axis of the boulevard. The materials that compose it evoke modernity, technological innovation and the integration of building services, combining occupant comfort, energy performance and respect for the environment (geothermal energy combined with solar auxiliary heating and beautification of the neighborhood with a green vertical facade).
The details, which are simple and effective, offer assemblies to create a building that will mark its occupants as much as the motorists and public transport users who enter Quebec by boulevard Laurier. The challenge of this project is to build the superstructure of a new bridge-building over an existing office building without distorting the urban context and to coordinate the work so that it does not affect the comfort of the occupants of the current building.
