ALEC’S CABIN
Stoneham
2013
This cabin expresses a desire for simplicity and functionality. The interior layout enhances the sense of spaciousness despite its compact footprint. Special attention is given to the relationship with the landscape, supported by generous glazing that extends the living area outward. The screened-in terrace becomes a seasonal living space, while the entrance porch provides a climatic buffer and aligns with the architecture of the terrace. Material selection reflects exposure to the elements: wood is used in protected areas, while the primary envelope is metal. Junctions, especially between wall and roof, are precisely detailed to preserve the purity of the volumes.
