K-HOUSE
Lac Saint-Joseph
2013
Located on a lakeshore site, K-House is the result of a sustainable construction approach rooted in passive solar design. The natural slope of the land is used to articulate a split-level ground floor in two wings, elevated above a garden level with direct access to the landscape. The copper roof, visible upon arrival, sets the project’s primary axes and defines its volumetric language.
Inside, large glazed openings frame changing views of the wooded surroundings and the lake, reinforcing the connection with nature while maximizing natural light. From the entrance, visual openings reveal the expansive interior spaces. Both the material palette and spatial layout support a strong continuity between the dwelling, its natural setting, and the daily life of its inhabitants.
