The initial objective was to give a whole new life to a family residence on the edge of a cliff, with a view of the river in the Quebec region.

Even if the infrastructure of the existing house has been partially preserved, the major expansions completely revive the project as an exceptional residence, unique and designed according to the highest standards of sustainable construction.

Every architectural detail has been meticulously developed, as have the structural and mechanical systems that optimize the building from energy and technological point of view.

The new custom engineered wood structure, omnipresent in the project, represents the common thread of the concept and links the different spaces and functions.

Concrete and steel then serve as a support for the wood, being skilfully integrated according to various structural requirements, particularly because of the overhangs and their interesting technical challenges.
