The Cargo Architecture team was given the mandate to design a retreat that would make the most of its exceptional environment of Lake Placid. CLT (cross-laminated timber), an innovative technique in the industry, was used as a constructive system to fulfill this mandate.

Still, in its early days in North America, this innovative system can be compared to large, unique, massive plywood panels replacing the traditional timber frame.

Cargo Architecture's expertise has enabled it to develop a series of constructive innovations that take full advantage of the benefits of this revolutionary system. The rigor of the construction system of the project is reflected in particular in its efficient, friendly, and orderly interior organization, offering a multitude of spaces for family and guests.

All rooms face Lake Placid and fit together to help the villa come together.

The contemporary form of the villa as well as the use of local building materials both result from a contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional Adirondack dwelling.
